When I tell people that I work for an environmental nonprofit, they usually immediately jump to conclusions. They might be well-meaning about it, but inevitably they draw the same deduction. They assume that I am a true believer, working an underpaid environmental job with a bunch of starry-eyed misfits.
I will be the first to admit that there are environmental jobs like this, but this is not the whole story. A lot of people involved in environmental engineering, environmental consultancy, and other environment careers are extremely educated, articulate, moderate, and well paid. You don’t have to be an extremist or college student. The environment is a big deal, and there are many environmental career options out there.
Many of the most important environmental jobs are actually in the field of education nowadays. People rarely think about how much environmental education goes on, but it is really astounding. From preschool through postgraduate degrees, there are environmental educators every step of the way to talk to people about issues affecting our planet today.
You can find environmental jobs at any level in it. Like in my case, my first environmental job was as guide in a municipal park. During nature walks, I would give short lectures about the local wildlife. People found it interesting especially kids. For me, it was a really rewarding and fulfilling job.
On the other hand, there are environmental jobs that involve making some very important policy decisions. Environmental engineering is a crucial job. When most people think about environmental jobs, they think about advocacy positions.
Although most people think that those people who go around the village conducting seminars and informing people about different environmental issues, the people both in the fedral and private agencies also plays a huge role on solving environmental issues.
So if you are into environment and is a good at interacting with people, you might consider a career on nonprofit, environmental jobs. I would never knock canvassing. It is what saves the environmental organizations during years when they can’t get funding from big donors. Often times, it is also how ordinary people who get involved in protecting the environment and its habitat that had made a big difference.

Ever since the beginning of time, mankind has searched for ways in which to improve the existence here on planet earth. Even today, we all long for so many things that would enable us to lead a happier life and yes, there are many claims which suggest ways of achieving this but you can be sure, cosmic ordering tops the list.
What is cosmic ordering? It is a spiritual practice where you are able to get from the universe everything it is you want in life. You ask, or order something, and you will receive it. While this is a spiritual process, don’t be swayed to think that you have to be a ‘Saint’ and only do good things in order to get what it is you want from life. Yes, that’s a benefit but not a requirement.
By being able to ask for absolutely anything you want from the universe such as better health, more financial security or even greater happiness, and be granted our wish, we can see that Cosmic ordering culminates in the manifestation of our goals or desires.
Perhaps you have already heard of what is known as, ‘the field of intent’. According to both Dr. Wayne Dyer and Dr. Deepak Chopra, this is an energy field which allows our spiritual self to connect with the cosmos and as they have stated, we need to be in this field in order to take advantage of cosmic ordering.
There have likely been times in your life when you have done this and didn’t even know it. Think back to a time when there was something that you really needed or wanted and by a lucky coincidence you got it. This was cosmic ordering, not a sheer coincidence.
Using cosmic ordering relies a lot on the power of intention. The power of intention is the combination of our desire to create an improved situation and our belief that we really deserve what we are requesting. If a better life is really what you want, then you have to believe deep down in your soul that you deserve a better life.
Cosmic ordering also has its own set of pros and cons much like so many things in life but what we need to realize, this process is far easier than all those other processes which promise happiness and success. Furthermore, with this process, the only barrier we need to break down is the tendency to allow ourselves to think in a negative way.
If you go through your day at work believing that you are about to get fired then sure enough, you are going to lose your job. Spend your time focusing on positive things. Always think about the good things in life that you want and that you deserve.
Many individuals have gone through years of their lives surrounded by unhappiness. They feel that they do not deserve anything better. This feeling of not feeling good enough is deeply ingrained in their personalities. These people will probable never be able to manifest what they truly want.
For some, you may have to dedicate a little time to preparing your subconscious mind because in many cases, it’s a person’s subconscious mind which is refusing to allow you to believe you deserve anything you want. Perhaps the biggest cause of this is the way in which we are brought up as kids.
It’s really not hard to effectively communicate with your subconscious. Communication can be through self-hypnosis, meditation and affirmations.
Considering how many people have successfully managed to change their lives for the better by using the process of cosmic ordering, you only stand to gain and in all probability, there are many things you’d like to order.

Have you tought about the importance of water? Did you know that water accounts for over seventy percent of your body? We are comprised of water primarily. Salt water has a mineral composition similar to our own blood. So water is more important to us than just something we put in our oral irrigators.
A healthy water intake can help us in many ways:
– You can focus better. A fully hydrated brain actually works better.
– Strength performance increases. Did you know that your muscles are stronger when your body is hydrated fully?
– Your immune system will be healthier.
– Flush waste out of your body. A fully hydrated body is better at getting rid of the things it DOESN’T need.
– You’d be amazed at how much more energy you can have when you drink adequate amounts of water.
- Water can help to keep your breath fresh, much like therabreath products.
There are a ton of reasons to maintain an adequate intake of water. Needless to say, you can probably see why it is important to have clean water – especially for an oral irrigator.
Advice from experts vary but it is generally agreed that most people probably need to take in 2 liters of water per day. Check with your physician before changing your intake though.
Once I worked for a company that sold water filters. One of their products was a ‘whole house filter’. The interesting thing about this filter was that it had a clear area where you could see what was trapped in the filter.
I hope you are ready for this. Municipal water supplies often rely on water that has been recycled. Many people know this but don’t want to think about it.
What this means is that all of your waste water, i.e., when you flush the toilet, goes back into the system. It is ‘filtered’ and ‘treated’ and might come right back at you in the form of a glass of water out of your tap. Not to be too disgusting here, but this is reality. And you should be aware of it.
What was found in that ‘see through’ filter mentioned above was little flaky white particles that looked suspiciously like toilet paper.
Chemical analysis was not done to validate this and who knows what I was really seeing there. But, never-the-less it made me think about my drinking water.
I use a filter for the water I drink now and I love it. I also cook with filtered water. Drinking clean filtered water is really great. The taste, or actually the lack of taste, because clean water doesn’t have taste or odor, can be quite a dramatic contrast to what you might be used to.
Not all filters are created equal. Some take out lead and heavy metals, some just filter for taste. So you really have to do a little research and make sure you are getting a filter that is right for you, one that will fulfill your needs.
